South Carolina Pick 3: Sunday Has No Midday Drawing

Plan South Carolina Pick 3 coverage around the missing Sunday midday session, distinguish advance dates from draw counts, and calculate the full purchase total.

A South Carolina Pick 3 ticket covering consecutive midday drawings skips Sunday because there is no Sunday midday drawing. It does not lose one of its purchased entries, and it does not acquire an evening entry as a substitute.

This is the detail to settle before treating a multi-draw count as a calendar count. Pick 3 has a daily evening schedule and a different midday schedule, so the same number of selected drawings can end on different dates.

Separate the two schedules

Midday drawings occur at approximately 12:59 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Evening drawings occur at approximately 6:59 p.m. daily. The published instructions also exclude midday drawings on Christmas Day.

Suppose you enter three consecutive midday drawings beginning on Friday. In an ordinary week without another exception, those sessions are Friday, Saturday and Monday. Sunday is a gap in the schedule, not an unsuccessful drawing result.

Three consecutive evening drawings starting Friday instead cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The count is the same, but the dates differ. Read the ticket's actual coverage rather than assuming every requested run occupies the same calendar period.

Advance Play chooses a starting day

Advance Play and Multi-draw perform different jobs. Advance Play identifies a later starting day. Multi-draw repeats the wager across the purchased consecutive drawings.

A request for a future Saturday does not automatically purchase every session until that Saturday. Likewise, a request for several draws does not by itself establish that the run starts on the date you had in mind.

Make the request specific: selected session, intended starting date and drawing count. Then inspect what was issued. This is more reliable than describing the purchase only as “for the weekend” or “for next week.”

Keep the digit condition unchanged across sessions

Pick 3 uses three digits from 0 through 9, including repetitions and leading zeroes. Straight on 093 requires exactly 093 in a covered drawing. A matching result in an uncovered session does not count.

Box accepts the distinct arrangements of the selected set. With three different digits there are six; with two identical digits there are three. A longer multi-draw ticket does not change those conditions within any individual drawing.

Choose the play type before extending the coverage. If the intended entry was Box but the issued purchase is Straight, the misunderstanding can be repeated through every covered session. More drawings do not repair the wrong wager.

Count the complete price per drawing

The listed component amounts are 50 cents and $1. Straight/Box is a $1 purchase combining 50 cents Straight and 50 cents Box. Combo purchases the distinct orders as separate Straight entries.

A six-way Combo at 50 cents per order costs $3 for one drawing. Ten such drawing entries cost $30, not $5. The small component amount is not the full per-session price.

Fireball doubles the play cost when added. That $3 Combo becomes $6 per drawing, making the ten-drawing example $60. Decide the total from complete purchases before comparing how many days the ticket might last.

Use the cutoff rather than the drawing time

Sales suspend at 12:45 p.m. for midday and 6:45 p.m. for evening, South Carolina time. Those are earlier than the corresponding drawings. Arriving before 12:59 p.m. does not guarantee midday eligibility.

If no session box is selected, the published instructions make the ticket valid for the next drawing that occurs. That default can be different from your preferred session, particularly when purchasing after a cutoff or during the Sunday midday gap.

Check the date and session printed before leaving. The lottery allows a limited cancellation window, up to twenty minutes after purchase, but not after sales have suspended for the drawing. Near cutoff, the usable correction period can be much shorter.

Track drawings that remain

The listed multi-draw options extend to fourteen Day drawings, fourteen Evening drawings or twenty-eight drawings for BOTH. Use the issued ticket to establish the precise coverage rather than replacing that information with a general calendar estimate.

Keep the original secure until covered drawings and any possible prize claims are resolved. Check each result against the correct session, then identify the purchased wager and use official validation for confirmation.

The South Carolina directory provides other game formats. For Pick 3 planning, remember that an empty Sunday midday slot is part of the schedule. It is neither a losing result nor an invitation to count the next evening drawing as if it had been purchased.
