Your Missouri Pick 4 selection may contain the same digit twice, but that does not make one matching EZ Match amount payable twice. The operator’s rules specifically address this situation. Check the separately printed EZ Match numbers and their awards rather than multiplying by how often a digit appears in your chosen selection.
There are also two different moments to check: the instant feature when the ticket prints, and the scheduled Pick 4 drawing afterward. Cashing the first must not make you lose track of the second.
Keep the two printed number areas separate
Pick 4 uses four digits from 0 through 9, including repeats. Its ordinary wager can be Straight, Box, Straight/Box, a listed positional play or Combo. EZ Match is an optional instant feature added for $1 per play.
With the feature, four EZ Match numbers appear beneath the selected Pick 4 numbers, with corresponding prize amounts. They are not a second official drawing result, and their printed order is not the base-game match condition.
Use the Pick 4 selection to identify which EZ Match digits qualify, regardless of order. Then use the amount attached to each qualifying EZ Match number. The instant check does not require waiting for the Midday or Evening drawing.
Count a repeated selected digit only as the rule allows
Take an illustrative base selection of 4482. Imagine the EZ Match area contains 4 with $5, 7 with $2, 8 with $3 and 9 with $10. These are hypothetical printed awards within the feature’s listed prize amounts.
The 4 and 8 match selected digits, giving $5 plus $3, or $8. The second selected 4 does not add another $5. The rule says that when two or more identical selected game numbers match an EZ Match number, its printed prize is paid once.
The incorrect calculation would be $5 + $5 + $3 = $13. It treats the selected repeated digit as if a second separately payable EZ Match award had been printed. It has not.
A large printed amount still needs its own match
In that example, the $10 beside 9 does not qualify because the selected 4482 has no nine. You cannot move the $10 to the matching 4 simply because it is the largest amount printed.
Likewise, a favorable EZ Match result says nothing about whether 4482 will win the later drawing. The instant feature and scheduled draw are separate checks. The ordinary $1 Straight award is $6,000 only when the selected four-digit sequence matches in exact order under that purchased wager.
If you selected a different wager style, use that style’s base chart after the drawing. An instant award does not change Straight into Box, increase the base stake or add an unpurchased positional wager.
Keep the upcoming drawing after an instant cash-out
The Missouri rules permit a winning EZ Match play to be redeemed before the host drawing. When it is cashed early, an exchange ticket prints for the upcoming drawing.
Suppose the hypothetical $8 instant award is redeemed during the afternoon for an entry in the Evening event. Before leaving, confirm that you have the exchange ticket covering the correct date, Evening session, selection and purchased features. The scheduled entry was already paid for; it is not a reason to buy it again.
If redemption occurs after the host drawing and both the instant feature and host wager won, the rules say the awards are combined for payment. Use official validation to establish the total rather than keeping only the portion you noticed first.
Calculate the cost without doubling the wrong feature
For a $1 base entry, EZ Match adds $1, making $2. Wild Ball is another optional feature and doubles the base purchase. A $1 base entry with both features therefore costs $3, not $4: $1 base + $1 Wild Ball + $1 EZ Match.
For a fifty-cent Straight, adding Wild Ball makes the base-plus-Wild-Ball portion $1; adding EZ Match brings the total to $2. Wager styles with a larger total purchase price, such as Combo, need their own complete cost calculation.
Decide the full amount you are prepared to spend before choosing extra boards or events. Tickets with EZ Match cannot be canceled, so the purchase should not be treated as something to inspect first and undo if the printed amounts disappoint.
Finish both checks before discarding anything
Missouri’s current Pick 4 schedule lists approximate Midday and Evening drawings at 12:45 p.m. and 8:59 p.m. Verify the actual date and session, then check the ordinary wager and any Wild Ball qualification separately from EZ Match.
Protect the original or issued exchange ticket and follow the current claim instructions. EZ Match prizes have a 180-day claim window from the host draw date on which the feature was originally purchased.
For other choices, use the Missouri directory. For Pick 4 EZ Match, remember what is being counted: matching printed awards, not repeated appearances of the same digit in your selection.
