A $1 Mississippi Cash 3 Exact or Any Order ticket does not put a full dollar on each half of the wager. It combines a fifty-cent Exact Order stake with a fifty-cent Any Order stake. That explains why its biggest base-game award is not the same as the $500 award on a $1 Exact Order ticket.
The distinction is easiest to see with repeated digits. Read the following as a ticket-checking exercise, not a suggestion that these numbers are more likely to appear.
Keep all three positions, including zeroes
Cash 3 uses three digits from 0 through 9. You can choose them or use Quick Pick, including having the terminal complete a partially selected line. Repeated digits are permitted, and a zero at the front remains part of the selection.
Our worked selection is 066. It has three distinct orders: 066, 606 and 660. Writing those three out keeps the duplicated six from creating imaginary extra arrangements.
Do not replace 066 with 66 in notes you intend to compare against a ticket. The shortened version hides a position. Also keep the wager description beside the digits; several different Cash 3 purchases can contain 066 without having the same winning condition or award.
Work the exact mixed-order outcome
Suppose the ticket is a $1 Exact or Any Order entry on 066 and the certified result is 066. Its fifty-cent Exact component pays $250, while its fifty-cent three-way Any component pays $80. Together they produce the chart’s $330 base award.
That $330 already contains both components. Adding another $80 would count the Any component twice. Likewise, substituting the $500 full-dollar Exact prize would pretend more money was placed on Exact than the mixed ticket actually purchased.
If the result is 606 instead, the Exact component loses but the Any component qualifies. The base award is $80. The same applies to 660. A result of 006 is different: it has two zeroes rather than two sixes and does not match this selection in any order.
Compare three purchases without changing the example
A $1 Exact Order purchase on 066 pays $500 only for 066. A $1 three-way Any Order purchase pays $160 for any of the three qualifying orders. The $1 mixed purchase pays $330 for its exact order or $80 for either other qualifying order.
Those differences are the point of the wager choice. There is no single “066 payout” detached from the style printed on the ticket.
Cash 3 also offers three-way Combo at $3, purchasing the three full-dollar Exact orders. If one covered order occurs, its base award is $500, not three times $500. Combo should therefore be compared using its $3 total cost, rather than placed beside $1 Any Order as though they were equally priced alternatives.
Check the distinct-digit row separately
Now change the selection to 058. There are six distinct orders, not three. On the $1 Exact or Any Order version, the exact-result award is $290: $250 from the Exact half plus $40 from the six-way Any half. A different qualifying order, such as 850, pays the $40 Any component alone.
This smaller mixed-order prize does not mean the terminal made a mistake. The applicable Any Order category changed when the repeated digit disappeared.
Before disputing a prize, compare the selected digit pattern, printed wager and correct chart row. Avoid counting matching positions as a percentage of the prize; the published conditions determine whether an award qualifies.
Add Fireball to the purchase cost, not the base award
Fireball doubles each play’s cost and applies to all used panels on the slip. It creates additional qualifying combinations by replacing a drawn digit with the separately drawn Fireball digit. Its prize schedule is separate.
Two $1 mixed-order panels cost $2 for one event without Fireball and $4 with it. Purchasing both panels in each of two events with the feature costs $8. This arithmetic describes four paid panel entries plus their add-ons, not one $1 wager that happens to stay active.
Check the actual feature selection before paying. Do not award a base-game $330 to a replacement-only result simply because a Fireball combination resembles the example above.
Match the ticket to the right session
Cash 3 has Midday and Evening drawings. The official instructions list 2:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.; results are posted afterward, with the page describing availability by 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. A posting time is not a ticket-sales deadline.
Multi-Draw can cover up to seven consecutive drawings, including the current one. Read the actual printed dates and sessions, and retain a ticket while any purchased events remain unresolved. Check certified results through Mississippi Lottery and have potential winners officially validated.
For other formats, see the Mississippi directory. For this game, “one dollar mixed” is the useful reminder: two half-dollar components, with each evaluated under its own condition.
