Georgia FIVE: Four Correct Digits Can Pay $20 or $225

Check Georgia FIVE by exact position rather than total matching digits, with worked examples showing the first-and-last patterns behind its prize tiers.

A Georgia FIVE ticket with four correct digits can qualify for very different prizes depending on where the incorrect digit sits. Four consecutive correct digits at an end are not the same result as two correct digits at the front and two at the back.

This is a positional digit game, not a five-ball game in which any matching values count. Before adding up how many digits you got right, preserve their printed order and identify the exact pattern of correct positions.

Five positions, including zeros and repeats

A play costs $1. Choose one digit from 0 through 9 in each of five positions, or use Quik Pik. Zeros and repeated digits are valid. A selection such as 0-6-6-2-9 is a complete five-digit entry, not the four-digit number 6629.

Georgia FIVE offers Midday and Evening drawings, listed at 12:29 p.m. and 6:59 p.m. Georgia local time. Choose the intended session and read the issued ticket before leaving. Matching the evening result does not create a prize on an entry purchased only for midday.

The all-five exact match pays the $10,000 top prize. There are also smaller categories based on specific matches at the ends and combinations of those positions.

Put two four-match tickets side by side

Suppose the drawn result is 4-7-2-9-0. A selection of 4-7-2-9-6 matches the first four positions and qualifies for the $225 category. It has one wrong digit, at the last position.

A selection of 4-7-8-9-0 also has four correct digits. This time the wrong digit is in the middle, leaving the first two and last two correct. That pattern qualifies for $20, not $225.

Both players can accurately say they had four digits right. Only the position-by-position comparison explains the difference. Do not use the total count alone to look up a prize.

A right digit in the wrong place does not help

With the same drawn result, a selection of 7-4-2-9-0 contains the same five digit values. It does not match all five in order. Georgia FIVE does not turn that rearrangement into a top-prize box win.

It does match the last three positions, 2-9-0, and that is a listed $20 pattern. The first two digits being reversed neither repair the front of the entry nor remove the qualifying back pattern.

Use a line of five marks in your notes: correct, correct, wrong, correct, correct, for example. This is clearer than circling values that appear somewhere in the result, because a circle alone does not show whether a digit occupies its required position.

Learn the patterns you are likely to misread

The current chart includes $225 for the first or last four correct positions, $20 for the first or last three, and $10 for the first or last two. The first digit alone or last digit alone qualifies for a $1 category, while both ends correct with the intervening qualifying patterns absent produce the listed $2 category.

Combined front-and-back patterns have their own amounts, such as $21 for the first three plus the last digit, and $11 for the first two plus the last digit. Use the chart's matching pattern for the whole play rather than adding overlapping rows of the chart yourself.

The middle digit by itself is not a listed prize. “At least one digit matched” is therefore not a sufficient description of a win. Where the match occurs matters at every level.

Next 2 buys two results to check

The Next 2 option enters the next two consecutive drawings. Multiple-draw play is also available for up to seven drawings. Those are drawing entries, not a promise that your selection will be checked against every result appearing on the website for a week.

At $1 per play per drawing, three selections across the next two drawings cost $6. If only one of those six entries earns a $1 prize, that small award does not recover the full purchase.

Write the total before paying and keep the draw sessions with the ticket. The extra convenience of advance play is useful only if you still know which results belong to the entries you bought.

Let the final check include the actual ticket

There are 100,000 possible ordered five-digit results. One exact selection has a 1 in 100,000 chance of matching all five. Quik Pik and personal choices use the same underlying format; a familiar date-like sequence does not become more likely because it means something to you.

Use official results and authorized validation for a possible prize, and keep the original ticket secure. Georgia lists a 180-day claim period from the drawing date. The Georgia lottery directory helps distinguish this game from Fantasy 5 and the other local formats. For Georgia FIVE, count positions and identify the pattern before naming the prize.
