How Eurojackpot numbers and odds work
A Eurojackpot line has two separate selections: five different main numbers from 1 to 50, and two different Euro numbers from 1 to 12. The order within either selection does not matter. A 7 in the main selection and a 7 among the Euro numbers are allowed because they belong to different pools; two main 7s in the same line are not.
Read a sample line
Example only: main numbers 4, 17, 28, 39, 46, with Euro numbers 3 and 11. Matching all five main numbers and both Euro numbers wins the jackpot tier. Matching five main numbers and only one Euro number belongs to a different tier. This example is an illustration, not a prediction or a recommended pick.
Where the 1 in 139,838,160 jackpot odds come from
There are 2,118,760 possible groups of five numbers from 50, and 66 possible pairs from 12. Multiplying those two counts gives 139,838,160 complete lines. One line matches the full result, regardless of whether the numbers came from a generator, a terminal or your own choices.
Five different purchased lines cover five combinations, giving a jackpot probability of 5 in 139,838,160, or 1 in 27,967,632 for that drawing. Five copies of the same line cover only one combination. Generating lines on this website does not buy tickets or enter the draw.
Why the prize table does not list fixed payouts
Eurojackpot has 12 prize tiers, but a match is not a promise of a fixed cash amount. Prize pools and the number of winners affect payouts. Use the table below to identify a match category, then check the official result for the actual drawing through the national operator that issued the ticket.
Eurojackpot is different from EuroMillions
These are separate games, even though both use five main numbers and two additional numbers. Their drawings, prize pools and ticket rules are separate. Select the correct game before choosing numbers, and confirm local sales and claim information with its authorized operator.
For the practical tool, use the Eurojackpot number generator; for the method behind random picks, read the lottery number generator guide. The lottery probability guide explains how to compare chances without confusing them with guarantees.

Optional features
A system entry combines selected numbers into multiple paid lines. For example, six selected main numbers produce six groups of five for each chosen Euro-number pair. This covers additional combinations and costs more; it does not change the probability of any individual line.
How the jackpot rolls over
The jackpot starts at €10 million and rolls when nobody matches 5+2. It is capped at €120 million; while capped, excess jackpot allocation flows to the next winning tier under the rules.
How shared jackpots work
All 12 tiers are pari-mutuel. Each tier’s allocation is divided among its winning lines, so actual payments vary by draw.
Regional differences
This is a European lottery. Sales channels, prices, eligibility, taxes and claiming procedures depend on the national operator. Powerball and Mega Millions are separate games with different formats.
Results and claiming
Check the official drawing result through the national operator that issued the ticket; its validation record determines a claim.
Keep the original ticket secure and follow the issuing operator’s validation process and claim deadline. This international guide does not substitute one country’s payout or tax rules for another’s.
Responsible play
Lottery play is paid entertainment with a likely loss. Set a fixed limit, never chase losses, never borrow to play, and stop if it causes stress or financial harm. A generated line is no more likely to win than a personally chosen valid line.
Frequently asked questions
Can a number generator predict EuroJackpot results?
No. It creates a valid random line; it cannot predict an independent draw or improve the chance of any combination.
Are Quick Picks better than personal numbers?
No. Every valid line has the same mathematical probability, however it was selected.
Does buying more lines improve the odds?
Distinct extra lines increase total coverage in direct proportion to the extra cost, but each line keeps the same odds and the chance remains very small.
What happens when several tickets win?
The jackpot pool is divided among all valid jackpot-winning tickets under the official rules.
How much is a line in Iceland?
One line costs 310 ISK through Íslensk Getspá.
When are drawings?
Tuesday and Friday evenings in Helsinki. Buy before the national operator’s local cut-off.
Is there a jackpot cap?
Yes, €120 million. Excess allocation can flow to the next prize tier while the jackpot remains capped.
Are prizes taxed in Iceland?
Íslensk Getspá states that Icelandic prizes are tax-free; other countries differ.
How long is the Icelandic claim period?
One year from the draw date under Íslensk Getspá’s rules.
Where should Icelandic players check results?
Use lotto.is and have the ticket validated by Íslensk Getspá.
