Wisconsin Pick 3: Both Sessions Must Have Equal Advance Counts

Plan Wisconsin Pick 3 multi-draw purchases with equal midday and evening coverage, calculate costs, and keep drawing count separate from calendar days.

Wisconsin Pick 3 allows an advance ticket covering both daily sessions, but the counts must be equal. You cannot put four midday drawings and three evening drawings together as one BOTH purchase under the published procedures.

That is useful to know before asking a retailer for a custom-looking week of entries. Decide whether you want equal paired coverage or a different request, then inspect the tickets that were actually issued.

Choose the coverage before counting days

The listed advance options are up to seven consecutive midday drawings, seven consecutive evening drawings, or fourteen drawings covering both. With BOTH, the number of midday and evening drawings must match.

For example, three midday plus three evening drawings form six entries. Four midday plus four evening drawings form eight. An intended mix of four and three is not the same request with one drawing omitted automatically.

Read the first and last covered sessions. The count describes entries in specified drawings, not a vague promise that a ticket is valid whenever you choose to check it during the next week.

Put a complete wager inside each session

Pick 3 uses three digits from 0 through 9, including repeats and leading zeroes. Straight requires exact order. Box accepts the qualifying arrangements, and Straight/Box combines both conditions under its own schedule.

Suppose you select 037 Straight. Each purchased drawing checks whether 037 appears exactly. The result 730 does not satisfy Straight, and a matching number in an unpurchased session does not qualify.

The same principle applies across a longer run. Advance coverage repeats the wager you bought; it does not let you decide after each drawing whether that day's ticket should be Straight or Box.

Calculate paired coverage in entries

One $1 play in seven midday and seven evening drawings costs $14. One 50-cent play across the same fourteen entries costs $7. The price difference changes the amount staked per result, not the number of covered sessions.

Two different $1 selections entered in all fourteen sessions cost $28. Adding selections is another multiplier, separate from adding sessions. Write the calculation before paying if the total is no longer obvious.

A useful purchase note says selections multiplied by drawings multiplied by the complete price per play. If different entries use different amounts, calculate them separately and add the totals. This avoids treating one small-looking component as the whole purchase.

Understand the payment attached to each entry

The published Straight payment is $500 at $1 or $250 at 50 cents, with a 1 in 1,000 exact-order chance. Buying both sessions does not increase the chance of 037 inside either individual drawing.

A $1 six-way Box pays $80 for a qualifying arrangement; a $1 three-way Box pays $160. Three different digits make six orders, while two identical digits make three. Those are different arrangement groups, not different methods for predicting the next draw.

For a $1 six-way Straight/Box, the listed exact payment is $290 and another qualifying order pays $40. Use that combined schedule rather than importing the full-dollar Straight amount into a dollar divided between wager types.

Do not assume a correction window exists

Wisconsin's published procedures say tickets cannot be cancelled and there are no refunds. That makes an accurate request important before issue, especially with several dates and sessions involved.

Vending-machine choices for selected numbers, specific sessions and advance coverage may also be limited. Check the available options instead of assuming every purchase method offers exactly the same controls.

If the goal is a particular evening, specify it. If the goal is equal coverage of both sessions, specify the number of each. The terminal should not have to infer a schedule from “the usual week” when your intended coverage has changed.

Check and retain the ticket through its last entry

Midday drawings are approximately 1:30 p.m. Central and evening drawings approximately 9 p.m. Buy before the corresponding draw break and read the issued dates and sessions.

Keep the original secure while coverage remains. After each result, check the correct session and wager condition, then use official validation for a possible prize. A loss in one session says nothing about whether the ticket has later entries left to check.

The regular claim period is 180 days from the winning drawing. The Wisconsin game directory provides other formats, but for Pick 3 advance planning the key rule is local and specific: a BOTH ticket pairs equal numbers of midday and evening drawings.
