Massachusetts Keno’s Extend & Save offers a real discount, but the word save needs a dollar amount beside it. A $1 base wager over 50 qualifying consecutive games costs $45 instead of $50. It still costs much more than stopping after ten $1 games.

That is the decision this feature puts in front of you: a lower price for a much longer purchase. Before comparing prizes or choosing Bonus, work out how much money the entire ticket commits and whether that was the amount you intended to spend.

Spots change the prize chart, not the dollar amount per number

Massachusetts lets you select from one to twelve different numbers out of 1 through 80. The lottery draws 20 numbers. Your selected count is the spot game, and you may choose the numbers yourself or request Quic Pic.

A four-spot example is 5, 19, 42 and 68. At a $1 base wager, you are buying one four-spot entry for that drawing, not paying $1 for each of those four numbers.

If an invented result contains 5 and 42 but neither of the other selections, the four-spot chart pays $1. Three matches pay $4, and all four pay $100, based on the current $1 chart. The two-match prize returns the cost of a single base-only game; it does not reimburse every game on a long ticket.

Put Extend & Save beside a shorter purchase

The current operator instructions allow up to 100 consecutive drawings. Extend & Save discounts tickets covering 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 consecutive games by 10 percent.

At a $1 base amount without Bonus, 50 games therefore cost $45 and 100 cost $90. The savings are $5 against the undiscounted 50-game price and $10 against the undiscounted 100-game price.

Now compare those figures with a personal $10 limit. Ten $1 base games fit it, while a $45 ticket exceeds it by $35. The discount does not make that larger purchase fit the original limit. Nor should you assume that buying an arbitrary number such as 55 games receives the offer: the operator names specific qualifying counts.

Those calculations are purchase comparisons, not forecasts of how many prizes a ticket will return. You can calculate the price exactly while the eventual return remains unknown.

Bonus adds cost and stops at the nine-spot game

For an eligible selection, Keno Bonus doubles the wager cost for the chance to multiply a qualifying prize. The ordinary Bonus description lists 3x, 4x, 5x or 10x increases, with a possible outcome that gives no increase. Check any separately advertised temporary promotion on its own terms.

For one four-spot game with a $1 base amount, adding Bonus makes the cost $2. If that game matches three numbers, the $4 base award would become $12 with a qualifying 3x result. If there is no Bonus increase, the $4 award remains $4 even though the purchase cost was $2.

Crucially, Bonus is unavailable on the 10-, 11- and 12-spot games. Moving from nine selected numbers to ten changes more than the potential prize chart: it removes that optional purchase. Do not carry a remembered Bonus choice into a different spot category or assume the largest spot count must allow every extra.

Check returns one game at a time

Imagine a valid $1 base-only four-spot ticket covering five games, costing $5. Its match counts are two, one, three, zero and one. Under the current four-spot chart, the two-match game pays $1 and the three-match game pays $4. The other listed results pay nothing, making the combined return $5.

Two winning games in that illustration produce no profit overall: $5 came back after $5 was spent. You also cannot combine their five matching occurrences into a five-spot award, because the ticket bought separate four-spot entries in separate drawings.

This is why the total ticket price belongs beside the total validated return. Counting winning screens without counting losing games can make an ordinary break-even result sound much better than it was.

A long ticket may continue after the overnight break

Drawings currently run approximately every three minutes, with an overnight suspension. The operator’s support page says that if the closure interrupts your consecutive games, the remaining games wait until play resumes the next morning.

Do not discard a ticket because you have reached the last drawing visible that night. Compare its purchased game range with the results actually completed.

For checking a longer run, the official Past Results tool offers a date view and a By Game Number option. The latter accepts a starting drawing and drawing count, which is more useful than scrolling through unrelated recent results. Keep each game’s Bonus outcome with that game if you purchased the option.

The largest prizes have their own limits

The current 12-spot chart shows $1 million for matching all twelve on a $1 wager, with odds of approximately 1 in 478.3 million for that exact match. Its overall prize odds include smaller awards and should not be read as the chance of winning $1 million.

Massachusetts also posts a $10 million overall payout limit for the 12-out-of-12 category in a single game, with a reduced per-dollar payment if qualifying winning stakes exceed the stated threshold. The 10- and 11-spot top categories have their own threshold details. Do not multiply a top-prize headline indefinitely by the stake.

Sign and safeguard the ticket, and follow official validation and claim instructions through the Massachusetts lottery directory. If you compare Keno with The Wheel of Luck, compare their complete purchase costs too; sharing a retailer’s monitor space does not give them the same wagers, prizes or discount.
